Casting with Nature - Termites 3, Coral of the Jarrah Forrest

An Aluminium Sculpture created by casting molten recycled aluminium into a fragment of Termite Mound,  The Resulting Sculpture show the intricate tunnels and chambers made by the insects,  The aluminium was then mounted on a base made from an old Jarrah Railway Sleeper and the coloured sections are made from recycled HDPE plastic from old bottle caps.

Nature is amazing, a casting from a fragment of Termite Mound so closely resembles a piece of coral from the ocean.

This piece won the Peoples choice at Castaways Small Sculpture Prize 2021
